Catching up with a bunch of links.

Everybody else has already mentioned it, but the Tribune has finally joined the food blogging community with The Stew.

I’m a little upset at the International Association of Culinary Professional’s refusal to grant me any press access to its conference in town this week. Of course I just wanted to got to an expensive conference for free and eat some free food.

It would have been nice to get press access (read: free booze) to Whiskeyfest too, but I didn’t ask. It seems to sell out long before I hear about the dates.

25 Best Beers In America. Mens Journal has compilied a pretty good list, with a good variety of styles, but I would have liked to see some of the ‘bigger’ and stronger beers that are becoming popular, particularly the ‘American Strong Ale’ style unique to this country. The Hairy Eyeball form Lagunitas is my particular favorite in that style (sadly it’s a seasonal, and only available in the winter).

A non-blog - blogsoop, which is a very useful concept - a searchable aggregator of food bloggers’ restaurant reviews. Only NY and San Francisco though.

The Gapers Block Fuel section is building a great resource by asking “What are the daily specials at your favorite pub/restaurant/etc.?
